From and early age it was always Matthew Boldt’s goal to became an entrepreneur. And when 2 past participants told Matthew about Summer Company this forth year student knew it was something he had to do before he graduated Commerce from Carlton University in Ottawa.
Growing up doing construction and landscaping for everyone around and his love for being outdoors, landscaping was a natural choice. Matthew envisioned his operation primarily as property maintenance, but evolved to planting gardens, weeding and whatever was asked.
Summer Company provided Matthew the opportunity to “get his hands dirty” with all aspects of running a small business, and gave him experiences that “school can’t”.
Matthew is hopeful to continue his business next year and hopefully attract a few more commercial and larger clients.
