As Andrew found out over the summer, running your own business can be unpredictable. Andrew thought he had plenty of work lined up for his video production company, but then a couple of prospects fell through.

With the help of his Small Business Enterprise Centre, Andrew quickly generated new interest in his company with a well-written press release leading to exposure in two local newspapers. As a result of this publicity and Andrew’s networking skills Esorb Productions produced videos for companies in his own area as well as Ottawa and Toronto.

A media arts student at Sheridan College, Andrew plans to continue his business and believes it will lead to a full-time career. “I’ve already established a strong technical framework from school, and I’ve laid the foundation for self-employment from the Summer Company program.”
