What is Summer Company?

Summer Company is a program specifically for the youth of Ontario between the ages of 15 - 29 who have a desire to be an entrepreneur. You must be a student in school and returning in the fall of 2010.

The Ontario Government provides an award of up to $1,500. to help pay for the start-up costs associated with operating a business. If you successfully complete the program you may qualify for an addition award of up to $1,500. in the fall.

What do you need to do to take part in Summer Company?

First you need to find out if you qualify for the program, go to www.ontario.ca/summercompany and read the Summer Company guidelines.

Second you must fill out the "eligibilty checklist". If you are eligible for Summer Company you will then poceed to filling out an application inquiry. After you have submitted your application inquiry you must start developing your business plan.

Being accepted into the Summer Company program is a competitive process, if you apply and don't take the next step which is writing your business plan and submitting it you may miss out on an opportunity of a lifetime as spaces are limited.

Once your business plan has been written you must send it into Enterprise Renfrew County to be evaluated. Being accepted into Summer Company is a competitive process and you must past each part before you move on.

If you have a viable plan, you may be called in for an interview. After the interview all aspects of your business plan will be evaluated. If accepted into Summer Company you will need to adhere to all of the guidelines and regulations as set out by the Ontario Government.

If at anytime you need help Enterprise Renfrew County is here to offer assistance as you conduct your market research, investigate insurance costs and write your business plan.

Good Luck!
